Verizon FiOS Slamming & Disconnect Update

December 20th, 2007 · 3 Comments

It has now been nearly 72 hours since Verizon FiOS slammed me and then Verizon disconnected my phone so its time for an update:

  • Still no call investigating my Slamming claim. 2 business days down and 3 to go.
  • While Vonage has helpful and I was hopeful to get my phone service working is hasn’t happened yet. I still get a “Number Not in Service” message or fast busy signal every time I call home.
  • Being an amateur Internet Marketer one of the things I did was make sure to build a Google Sitemap and use their excellent Webmaster Tools to validate my site. The result has been that less than 48 hours after starting the site I am already indexed and being found in Google. This has lead to people finding the site already. BTW - this is my first experience with Wordpress - much better than Moveable Type!

It is time to begin to market the site in the blogosphere.

PS - If anyone wants to contact me (Verizon - this means you too) then please send me email.

Let me start by saying I hear ya on the Verizon Support monster. There are extremely competent folks there, but you need to find them. One such group is the Fiber Save group. Just ask to be transferred there by that name. These folks are the cream of the crop and can get anything fixed. They will also follow-up as promised.

Your use of the term slamming unfotunately is inproper. Once you consent to TPV, you waive your rights under the law. However, Vonage should be able to get your number back. They have a window in which to get this completed in case authorization was changed improperly.

    Good choice on WordPress!

However, if you find your server being hit with too much load, check out WP Super Cache.
